How do I schedule a blog post?

You will have a post that goes live at a time you choose.

Before you start

You need permission to write content. Write the post first.

Steps

1. Open the post and find Schedule Publish.
2. Pick a date and time in the future (an orange "Scheduled for …" note appears).
3. Set Status to Published and press Save Changes.

What you will see

The post stays hidden until the date passes, then appears by itself. It shows as Published in the list while still hidden.

If something goes wrong

• Use Published with a future date. The Scheduled status needs a cron job on the server to flip it, and with an empty date it never publishes.
• The list's "view" link for a not-yet-live post gives "page not found" until the date.
• Allow a couple of minutes after the time for the public cache to catch up.
• Setting an old date on a draft and publishing it makes it live immediately.
