You will have sent a message to one customer.
Before you start
You need the Write permission for notifications. For the email channel, a mail server must be set up and the customer must have an email address.
Steps
- Open Site Settings and choose Notifications.
- Set Audience to one customer, then search by name and pick them.
- Choose the channel: web push, in the portal (in-app), or email.
- Choose the event type, then write the title and message.
- Press Send. It goes out at once, with no confirmation.
What you will see
The result line says whether the push was accepted, or that the customer has no devices. The customer always has the message in their portal notifications, whichever channel you chose.
If something goes wrong
- The email arrives in a fixed English layout, with your title as the subject.
- If there is no mail server or the customer has no email, the email does nothing; the portal copy still exists.
- If the customer never enabled push, the push has nowhere to go.
- The text is stored as you typed it, in one language.
