Cheque register

Received and issued cheques: what each action posts, which buttons ask nothing, and the payable-bounce difference.

Accounting → Cheques lists cheques, searchable by serial, Sayad id, party or bank, filtered by direction and status: In Hand, Deposited, Cleared, Bounced, Returned.

Create

Direction, serial, Sayad id (only on installs in Rial), bank, drawer or payee, received/issued date, due date and face value. A received cheque posts: debit Cheques in Hand, credit Accounts Receivable; an issued one: debit Accounts Payable, credit Cheques Payable. No customer or supplier is attached, so the party dimension is "Unassigned".

Actions

  • Deposit: choose bank account and date. Moves the cheque to the deposited account.
  • Clear: debits the bank and clears the deposited account. It uses today's date and asks nothing.
  • Bounce (asks first, today's date): a received cheque goes back to Accounts Receivable. For an issued cheque the bounce restores Cheques Payable, not Accounts Payable.
  • Return (in hand only; asks first): reverses the creation entry.

The cheque dates are shown in the site calendar. Every action reports "Saved."
