How do I make a reusable pattern?

Save a block as a linked pattern and place it on several pages.

You will have a block that updates everywhere when you edit it once.

Before you start

You need permission to write content. A pattern cannot contain another pattern.

Steps

  1. In the Studio, select the element (or elements) to reuse.
  2. Choose Save selection in the Templates panel, give it a Name, and pick Pattern (linked), then save.
  3. On other pages, open the Templates panel and insert it from Patterns (linked).
  4. To change it everywhere, open Content → Patterns, or choose Edit pattern on any copy, edit it and save.

What you will see

The pattern appears in the Patterns list with "Used on N page(s)". Edits are live on every page at once, with no publish step.

If something goes wrong

  • Choose Template (copy) instead if you want an independent copy.
  • Detach from pattern on a page turns that copy into ordinary elements.
  • For other languages, use + code on the pattern's card to add a language version.
  • A pattern still used on a page cannot be deleted; detach it first.
