What do I do when a destination fails?

You will have re-sent a destination that failed.

Before you start

You need the posts publish permission. Fix the cause first: an Expired account needs Connect again.

Steps

1. Open the post from the calendar (filter by Failed or Partially Published).
2. Read the error under the destination.
3. Fix the cause (reconnect, shorten the text).
4. Press Retry on that destination.

What you will see

"Retry queued — the publisher will pick it up shortly." The destination returns to Scheduled and publishes within about a minute.

If something goes wrong

• Retry resets the attempts, so a retry is a fresh set of three tries.
• Do not use Publish Now on a partial post expecting a second copy: destinations that already published are left alone.
• A destination whose account you disconnected is gone.
