You will have written a version of an email in a language that had none, so recipients stop receiving English.
Before you start
You need the Manage permission. Open the English version of the template first and keep it at hand: the form for AR, FR, ES and DE starts empty and does not show the English text.
Steps
- Open Email Templates and find the template.
- Copy what you need from the EN tab (subject, text of each block, and the
{{variables}}). - Switch to the language tab, for example FR.
- Write the subject and add the same kinds of blocks, translating the text and keeping each
{{variable}}unchanged. - Check the preview, then press Save.
What you will see
From the next email, recipients whose language is this one get your version. Until then, and for any language you do not write, they receive the English version.
If something goes wrong
- Switching tabs does not warn you about unsaved changes. Save before you leave a tab.
- Only EN and FA have dots in the list; your saved French or German version has none.
- Which language a recipient gets depends on the sender: some features use the recipient's language, others the site's default language.
- If nothing exists in English either, a plain built-in message is sent.
