The rates behind the instant price a visitor sees after choosing a 3D model (STL, OBJ or 3MF) in the calculator on your site. The visitor's browser measures the model; the server prices it from the table on this page and shows a range, never a single figure.
Where it exists
Only on the HQ install and on gold3d.ir. Elsewhere the menu entries, the pages and the calculator element are absent.
How the price is made
- FDM: material by weight, plus machine time on the cheapest printer the part fits, plus one setup fee per order.
- Resin: material by weight plus a charge per layer of build height, paid once per order because copies share one build, plus the setup fee.
- Supports: every face tilted more than 45° downward is supported down to the bed. The space underneath times Support density is added as material, so the orientation the visitor picks changes the price. Support allowance is used only where the shape is unknown, such as the price preview.
- Order rules: the quantity discount comes off the parts, never the setup fee; the total never goes below the minimum order; the shown range is the total times Range starts at and Range ends at, rounded.
The tabs
- Order rules: minimum order, rounding, the range, quantity discounts.
- Printers: each machine's largest part, speed and hourly rate (FDM) or rate per layer (resin). A part that fits no enabled printer gets "too large" instead of a price. The printer name is for staff only.
- FDM printing and Resin printing: whether the technology is offered, its setup fee, quality levels, supports and, for FDM, wall thickness and infill choices.
- Materials and colours: density and price per gram (waste included), and a surcharge per colour. Only enabled materials are offered.
- Simple mode: the choices a visitor picks in Simple mode ("display piece", "functional part") instead of technical settings.
The Price preview beside the tabs prices a sample part with the rates as edited and shows the saved result next to it, so you can see a change before saving.
What visitors see
Never a machine rate or a printer name. The starting-rates table on the landing page publishes each material's price per gram, the setup fees and the minimum order, so changing a rate here changes that page too.
Saving and resetting
Save rates checks the whole table first and lists anything that needs fixing. Reset to defaults replaces your rates, materials and Simple-mode choices with the market-research defaults.
Firm quote requests
A visitor can ask for a firm price, with the model attached. Those arrive under Print Quote Requests; see Print quote requests.
Permissions
print-quote.read opens the rate table, print-quote.manage saves and resets it, and print-quote.requests opens the requests and downloads their models.
