Mailboxes

Addresses the site reads mail from and replies as; IMAP settings and what deleting one does.

Settings → Mailboxes lists addresses such as support@ or sales@. Columns: Address and display name, Department, IMAP host and port, Status (Enabled or Disabled with the last error).

Fields

Address (unique, up to 254), Display Name, Department (free text), Outbound SMTP config (Install default or a configured sender), Reply format (Plain personal text or Branded HTML shell), and IMAP: host, port (993), TLS, username, password (blank keeps the saved one) and Enabled (poll for new mail).

Buttons

Test IMAP, Fetch now, Edit, Delete (a confirmation; no dependency check).

Behaviour to know

  • The first fetch only records where the mailbox ends; mail already in it is not imported.
  • A mail server on a private or loopback address is refused, and changing the host requires retyping the password.
  • Mail not addressed to a configured mailbox is skipped.
  • Disabled mailboxes still appear in Send from and the mailbox filter.
  • Deleting a mailbox leaves its conversations pointing at nothing; replies fall back to your personal or the default address.
  • A duplicate address shows a raw database error. The port is not range-checked.
  • The description on the page talks about assigning mailboxes to plugins; that feature does not exist.
