Affiliates

A commission is created when the purchase settles, not on a click; you approve it, then pay it out by hand. What is and is not automatic.

Partners who send customers your way and earn a commission on what they buy.

Programs, affiliates, conversions, payouts

A program sets the rule: a percentage or a flat amount, and how many days a click stays valid (1 to 365, default 30). An affiliate belongs to one program and has a referral code. A conversion is one commission earned on one sale. A payout gathers approved conversions of one affiliate into a single payment record.

Affiliates do not sign up themselves

Only staff create affiliates, from the admin page. A new affiliate is pending until you approve them. The public "Affiliates" page on the product site is a marketing page whose form only opens an email to LogaTech's partners address; it creates nothing here.

What a click does

The referral link is /api/affiliates/track?ref=<code>. It sets a signed cookie for the program's cookie days and sends the visitor on; the click alone earns nothing. It works only for an approved affiliate in an active program; otherwise the visitor gets a plain error page, not a redirect. A newer click overwrites the cookie, so the last link followed before checkout wins.

When a commission is created

At the moment the purchase settles: a paid store order or subscription, a paid invoice, or an LMS enrolment. It is created pending. No cookie, an expired cookie, or an unsettled purchase earns nothing. One sale can carry only one referral. For a subscription only the first payment converts; there is no recurring commission. A flat-rate program pays the full flat amount even on a free sale, so review those. The commission uses the program's rate at settlement time, not at click time.

You approve, then you pay

Approving a conversion tells Accounting to book the expense. Rejecting is final, and only pending conversions can be approved or rejected; an approved one cannot be undone. Paying is a bookkeeping record: Paid moves no money, it posts the entry in Accounting. You send the money yourself.

Refunds

When an invoice is fully refunded, a still-pending conversion is rejected automatically. An approved or paid conversion is only flagged "Sale refunded" and you get a notice; nothing claws it back. Partial refunds are ignored.

What is not here

No emails to affiliates, no payout threshold or schedule, no payment gateway, no marketing assets, no self-signup, no cancelled payouts. Writing needs the Enterprise plan; reading does not.
