You will have moved a person to another role, and with it to that role's permissions.
Before you start
You need permission to manage users, and you must hold every permission the new role carries.
Steps
- Open User Management and find the person on the Users tab.
- Press Edit on their row.
- Choose the new Role.
- Press Save.
What you will see
Their access changes within a few seconds. They are not signed out, so the change reaches them while they work.
If something goes wrong
- A person has one role. Any extra permissions set on them personally stay on top of it.
- If the role you want is missing, or the save says you cannot assign a role with permissions you do not hold, you lack some of its permissions.
- Protected accounts (those that hold platform-operation permissions) cannot be edited by a tenant administrator; their page shows "No users".
- If you only need to add one ability, use Custom permissions on the same page instead of a new role.
