You will have a form that visitors fill in, in a second language, with its answers unchanged.
Before you start
The site needs a second language. You need Translate Forms (forms.translate) or permission to edit forms.
Steps
- Open Forms.
- On the form's row press Translate form.
- Pick the language and fill in the boxes under each original: title, description, Submit button, Success message, step names and, for each field, the label, placeholder, help text and every option.
- Save the language.
- To use the form somewhere in that language, open Embed code on the forms list and choose the language: the address gets
?locale=.
What you will see
The form page (/forms/<slug>?locale=fa) shows the translated words, and a form placed in a page with the page builder uses the page's language. A text with no translation shows the original. Submissions record the page's language.
If something goes wrong
- Add a field after translating and its texts appear in the list, untranslated.
- Delete a field and its old translations are ignored.
- Answers use the option's fixed value, so exports and conditions keep working in every language; the responses table, CSV export and notification email show the label.
- A form's address has no language in it: the language is given by
?locale=or by the page it is placed in.
