You will have a page that visitors can read in a second language at its own address (/fa/about).
Before you start
- The site needs a second language (Site Settings → Language & Format). Until it has one, the Translate button and the Languages column are not shown. A second language is a feature your installation has to be granted; if you cannot add one, ask the person who manages your plan.
- You need the Translate CMS Content permission or permission to write content.
Steps
- Open Content → Pages.
- On the page's row press Translate. (In the Studio use the overflow menu → Translate.)
- Choose the Language. The editor lists the page's texts, each with the original above and a box for your translation.
- Type the translations. The count "n of m translated" goes up, and Preview on the right follows you.
- To skip something, leave the box empty. A text with no translation shows the original.
- Press Save draft.
- When it is ready, press Publish.
What you will see
The status changes from Draft to Published, and the page opens in the new language at its own address. The Pages list shows a green chip for the language. The draft you keep editing does not change the live page until you publish again.
If something goes wrong
- "This site has only one language": add a language first.
- A banner "This translation was changed by someone else": reload to see their changes; what you typed was not saved.
- "Some texts could not be saved": the page's text changed after you opened the editor. Reload.
- There is nothing to translate on a page without text.
- Leaving with unsaved edits asks for confirmation.
