Settings you will visit less often, but which affect every public page of the site. Six sections: Maintenance, Search indexing, Site verification, Permalinks, Breakpoints and Custom code.
Maintenance mode
When it is on, visitors get a 503 "back soon" response showing the maintenance screen instead of the site. Anyone signed in to the admin panel still sees the real site. The customer portal, proposals, downloads and unsubscribe links stay available to everyone. Use the Preview link to see what visitors see.
- The Enable switch saves the moment you flip it. The Save button covers only the rest.
- What to show visitors is either a simple message (a title up to 200 characters and a message up to 2000, per language; a language left blank uses the English text) or a designed page you build in the page builder. The page must be published (drafts appear in the list, marked as drafts, and an unpublished one falls back to the simple screen). Only its body is shown, with no header or footer. Create & open in Studio makes a page for you.
- Estimated downtime (0 to 525600 minutes) tells browsers and search engines when to come back.
Search engine indexing
Switching this off makes robots.txt block all crawlers and empties the sitemap. It suits a site that is not ready yet, but forgetting it keeps the site out of search results. The switch reads "Allow search engines to index this site", and it takes effect only after you press Save.
Site verification
Enter the meta tag a service such as Enamad or Google Search Console gives you, as a name and a code in separate fields. It is added to the page head on the server, which is where those services look.
- Up to 20 tags. A name starts with a letter and may contain letters, digits, dot, underscore, colon and hyphen (up to 64 characters). A code is required, up to 512 characters, with no
<,>, quotes or line breaks. Two tags cannot share a name. - These names are reserved by the platform and are refused: robots, googlebot, viewport, charset, content-type, generator, description, referrer, theme-color.
Permalinks
The first part of blog addresses: posts (default blog), categories (blog/category), tags (blog/tag) and authors (blog/author). A sample address under each field shows the result.
- Lower-case letters, digits, hyphens and slashes only; up to 120 characters; leading and trailing slashes are removed.
- Posts may be left empty, which serves posts at the site root (
/my-post). The other three cannot be empty. - The first part cannot be a word the platform uses, such as admin, api, store, courses, docs or studio, and no two of the four may be the same.
Page builder breakpoints
Mobile (up to 767px) and tablet (up to 1024px) are always available in the page editor. Four more sizes can be switched on, all off by default: mobile extra (880px), tablet extra (1200px), laptop (1366px) and widescreen (from 2400px). Each adds a device button to the editor for every page. The pixel values cannot be changed.
Custom code
Custom CSS is loaded on every public page after all other styles, so it can override page builder styles. Custom JavaScript runs for every visitor; only add code you fully trust. Each field takes up to 200,000 characters.
- The JavaScript field accepts JavaScript only: text that starts with an HTML tag (a meta tag, or a
<script>wrapper) is refused, because it would break every page. - JavaScript is added after the page loads, so it cannot do what a verification service needs. Use Site verification for that.
- On a free trial custom code is off. The editors are read-only and Save is disabled. Anything already saved is kept but not shown to visitors; it works again once the trial is converted.
Styling one page only
Every page carries its own address on the page root, without the language prefix, so a rule can stay on one page:
[data-page="/cart"] h1 { … }styles the cart's title and no other page's.[data-page^="/blog/"] … { … }reaches every blog post.[data-page="/"]is the home page.
Write the address as it reads in the browser, Persian slugs included. Some pages set a font or colour on the element itself; there, add !important to the value, or set the font variable for the whole page instead: [data-page="/cart"] { --lc-font-display: Samim, Vazirmatn, sans-serif; }.
Who can save
Indexing, verification tags, breakpoints and custom code are saved with the site-settings Edit permission. Maintenance mode and permalinks need permission to edit content settings and the content plan feature. All six sections are visible with View, so a save can be refused after you see the section.
