This page lists every word of one form: its title and description, the submit button, the success message, the name of each step, and for each field its label, placeholder, help text and the label of every choice. The original is above each box.
How the texts are named
| Text | Example |
|---|---|
| Form title / description | Form title, Form description |
| Submit button, Success message | the button and what the visitor reads after sending |
| Step n name | only on a form with steps |
| {field}: label / placeholder / help text | a field's words |
| {field}: option "x" | the label of one choice |
The answer does not change with the language
A choice has a fixed value and a label. The label is what visitors read and what you translate; the value is what a submission stores, what conditions compare and what webhooks send. Editing a label never changes the value, so translating is safe for answers already collected.
Which language a form shows
A form has one address for every language and is often embedded on other sites, so its language comes from the page it sits in. The form page takes ?locale=fa; the Embed code dialog on the forms list has a language picker that adds it. A form you place with the page builder takes the page's language. A language the site does not serve falls back to the visitor's own.
Who can do this
Translate Forms (forms.translate) or permission to edit forms. A person who only translates also needs to be able to open the forms list.
