Estimates

How do I create an estimate?

Start a draft proposal with a client, line items, tax and an expiry date.

You will have a draft estimate with its own number, ready to send.

Before you start

You need permission to create estimates, and your plan must allow it.

Steps

  1. Open Estimates and press New estimate.
  2. Fill Title, Client name and Client email. To use an existing customer, tick Select from customers and pick them; their details fill in and lock.
  3. Set Valid until if you want an expiry. Left empty, it uses the Valid days default from Estimate settings.
  4. Choose the Tax rate (%), and a Number series if you have defined any (it cannot be changed later).
  5. Add at least one line: a description, quantity and unit price. Use Add line item for more.
  6. Add Notes or Terms & conditions if needed. Notes are shown to the client.
  7. Press Create estimate.

What you will see

"Estimate created", and the estimate opens as a draft.

If something goes wrong

  • A missing title, client name, email or line description stops the save.
  • Quantity must be above zero and a unit price cannot be negative.
  • A series that was removed or archived is refused; pick another.
