How do I translate the site name, tagline and seller details?

Give the site's title, tagline and the seller's name and address on invoices their own wording in each language.

You will have the site's name and tagline, and the seller block printed on invoices, in each of the site's other languages.

Before you start

  • The site must have more than one language, and you need the translate permission (Translate CMS Content) or the content write permission.
  • Logo, favicon, colours, phone, email and tax ID are the same in every language and are not translated.

Steps

  1. Open Site Settings and choose Branding.
  2. Scroll to Site identity in other languages.
  3. Pick the language, then fill in Site title, Tagline, Seller name (documents) and Seller address (documents) under the original text.
  4. Press the language's Save button. Repeat for the next language.

What you will see

"Translation saved". A visitor in that language sees the translated title and tagline (browser tab, search results, header logo text). An invoice or packing slip for an order made in that language prints the translated seller name and address.

If something goes wrong

  • A field left empty uses the original text, field by field.
  • If the card is missing, the site has one language or you lack the permission.
  • Older orders (made before an order remembered its language) print the seller details in the site's default language.
