How do I approve new members?

You will have turned waiting people into active members.

Before you start

You need the manage-members permission and a plan with community moderation. Pending members appear only when the membership mode is not Open.

Steps

1. Open Community → Members.
2. Filter Status to Pending (the bell entry "Membership request" links straight there).
3. Press Approve on each person.

What you will see

The status turns Active and the member gets the email "You are in — your community membership is active". Customer-linked members also get a bell entry.

If something goes wrong

• An empty queue on an Open community is normal.
• Approve also appears for Banned members and un-bans them.
• A Pending person can still sign in but cannot post, and sees no explanation.
