Two sections: the Live chat widget on the public site, and Channels (WhatsApp Business and Instagram Business). Viewing needs the site-settings View permission and saving needs Edit.
Live chat
- A master On/Off switch. The feature switches below it are disabled while chat is off.
- Widget colour (a hex colour) and position (bottom right or bottom left).
- Avatar (from the media library) and display name (up to 80 characters).
- Greeting and offline message (up to 500 characters each).
- Show contact channels, with a link per network. The list offers about 19 networks but the site accepts only 8 links, so saving more than 8 fails.
- Disclose automated replies, on by default.
- Let visitors book, with the slug of a booking event.
Save writes the whole configuration at once.
Not built yet: the business-hours gate and auto-assign are placeholders on the page ("coming soon"); do not rely on them.
The AI assistant switch
It reads and writes the Inbox's assistant mode, needs permission to manage the assistant, and has an effect only while live chat is on; otherwise the page says it is blocked.
Channels: WhatsApp and Instagram
Credentials are typed in by hand, even though the introduction text mentions OAuth. They belong to the signed-in user, not to the site: each staff member connects their own.
- WhatsApp: phone number ID, access token, webhook verify token and display phone number.
- Instagram: account ID, access token and username. The username is labelled optional, but saving does nothing, and says nothing, if any field is blank.
- Disconnect has no confirmation.
