Bills

Supplier bills: a draft posts nothing, opening books the liability, payments reduce it, voiding is refused after a payment.

Accounting → Bills lists bills (number BILL-<year>-<4 digits>), searchable by number or vendor, filtered by status: Draft, Open, Partially Paid, Paid, Void.

Lifecycle

  • Draft posts nothing and appears in no report. There is no edit or delete; only void.
  • Open posts: debit each line's account, credit Accounts Payable. "Bill opened."
  • Record payment (open or partly paid): choose the bank account, amount (defaults to the balance, cannot exceed it) and date; debits Accounts Payable and credits the bank's ledger account.
  • Void (draft, or open with no payment): reverses the accrual; a voided bill cannot reopen. Refused once any payment exists.

The form

Vendor name (free text), issue and due date, and lines of any ledger account, description and amount. Lines without a description or amount are dropped silently. Tax is always zero and there is no bill description field.

Suppliers

The vendor is only text. The bill posts to the shared "Unassigned" supplier value, so per-supplier balances for bills made on screen are not available.
