How do I limit how often a workflow runs?

Use rate control.

You will have caps on bursts of triggers.

Before you start

You need the write permission.

Steps

  1. Open the workflow; find Rate control.
  2. Set Max concurrent runs, Throttle ms or Debounce ms (0 turns each off).
  3. Save.

What you will see

Held-back runs are recorded as Skipped (one row a minute per workflow); debounced triggers merge into one later run.

If something goes wrong

  • Concurrent counts waiting runs too.
  • Pausing a workflow leaves a pending debounce, whose run then fails quietly.
  • This is separate from the loop guard.
