The list
Filters apply when you press Search: name (not SKU or slug), type, status, category (direct membership only, not child categories) and brand. 50 per page, last updated first. Tabs Active and Trash. There are no stat cards.
Row actions: View on site (published only), Edit, Duplicate, Delete (to Trash). In Trash: Restore and Delete permanently. Select rows for Export, Set brand or a bulk Delete (to Trash); there is no bulk publish, price or stock edit.
New Product asks only for a name, slug and price, and always creates a simple draft in Uncategorized; you finish it in the editor.
Types
Simple; Variable (price and stock live on variations, which unlocks the Variations tab); Grouped (a bundle sold as one cart line at its own price, children chosen in Linked products); External (the buy button is a link out; it never enters the cart); Subscription (recurring, billed at the regular price each period; sale price is ignored); Membership (a one-off purchase that grants membership for a number of days, blank for lifetime). You can change the type any time.
Editor
Save also saves open variation cards. Attributes, gallery, linked products and stock source save on their own.
- Status: Draft, Published, Archived. Shoppers see only published products that are not in Trash; draft and archived look the same to them.
- Slug: unique among live products and the storefront address
/store/products/slug. Changing it on a published product redirects the old address to the new one. - Pricing: a Sale price must be below the regular price, and with a sale window applies only inside it. Hidden for Variable (set per variation).
- Inventory: Stock source "This product" or "Inventory plugin" (switching saves at once and creates inventory items; checkout then skips this product's own stock). With your own stock, Stock settings gives quantity, low-stock threshold and backorders. A quantity of 0 flips the status to Out of stock, and a manual Out of stock always blocks purchase. Backorders is saved but nothing reads it, so do not rely on it. The low-stock threshold feeds only the dashboard list.
- Max per cart caps the total across all variations. SKU is unique among live products.
- Barcode (GTIN): 8, 12, 13 or 14 digits with a valid check digit (Persian digits and hyphens are fine), unique among live products and variations. A Variable product sets it on each variation instead.
- Shipping class, Tax class, weight and dimensions; Virtual and Downloadable; Featured; Requires file upload (1 to 10 files, label and instructions).
- Categories (ticking one ticks its parents; Uncategorized drops away) with a Primary one, Tags, Brand (one per product; + Add Brand creates one there, see Brands), Featured image and Gallery.
- Exclusive content and an info modal button (shown only when both label and body are filled).
- There are no SEO fields: the page title and description come from the name and description.
Variations
Mark attributes "Used for variations", then Generate Variants: every combination is created at the regular price, existing ones are skipped, and blank manual variations are removed. Each card has Enabled and Default switches; the Default is pre-selected on the product page. Disabled or deleted variations disappear from the storefront. The variation low-stock threshold is not saved. Per-variation downloads, shipping and tax class have no editor.
Downloads
Turn on Downloadable, then add files from the Media Library or an external URL, with an optional download limit and expiry in days. A link is issued per file when the order settles, with its expiry counted from then. Refunded, cancelled or failed orders lose access, and it returns if the order is reinstated.
Duplicate, trash and export
Duplicate makes a draft copy with a -copy slug, clears SKUs and barcodes, resets stock to 0, and copies categories, tags, the brand, gallery, attributes and variations; it does not copy downloads, linked products or reviews. Trash is a soft delete allowed for any product; Restore fails if someone took its slug or SKU meanwhile. Delete permanently removes variations and downloads; old orders keep their line items. Export produces a zip bundle, not a spreadsheet; import lives in Site Settings → Import & Export, where clashing slugs are renamed and clashing SKUs cleared.
