Spaces

Create, edit and archive spaces, and what type, visibility and tier gates really control.

Community → Spaces lists every space and is where you create and archive them.

The list

Columns: Space, Slug (shown as /community/<slug>), Type, Visibility, Status, Membership Tiers ("All eligible members" when there are no gates). Filter by name, type, visibility, status and tier; the filter lives in the address. Row actions: View (active spaces only), Copy link, Edit, Archive.

The editor

Field Notes
Name Required, up to 160 characters.
Slug Optional; made from the name if blank. Letters, digits and hyphens, unique.
Type Discussion, Announcements, Q&A, Events.
Visibility Public, Members, Private.
Sort order Lower shows first.
Tier gates Tick the tiers allowed in. None ticked means every eligible member.
Require member access Makes a Public space need an active member.
Description Up to 2,000 characters.

The space type is a label; it does not change how posting works. The icon field cannot be set from this screen.

Archive is one-way

Archiving hides the space from everyone and keeps its posts. The editor does not send a status, so an archived space cannot be reactivated here.
