You will have turned on Google sign-in for the customer portal.
Before you start
You need the Manage domains and credentials permission and a Google Cloud project where you can create an OAuth client.
Steps
- Open Site Settings and choose Customer accounts.
- In Customer sign-in, copy the redirect address listed for each active domain.
- In your Google Cloud project, create an OAuth client and add every one of those addresses as an authorized redirect address.
- Back on the page, enter the client ID and client secret from Google.
- Type
truein Enabled, then save.
What you will see
The section shows "Configured" and customers can sign in with Google on the portal.
If something goes wrong
- Google matches redirect addresses exactly. After adding a domain, register its new address in Google too, or sign-in fails at Google with no sign of it here.
- All three fields are required each time you save.
- Removing the credentials is guarded: if customers have signed in with Google you must acknowledge how many would be locked out.
- This is for customers signing in. Social OAuth on the Social tab is for publishing and is separate.
