Media

Uploading, folders and finding files, file details and private files, the Trash and its effect on live pages, the settings modal, and the picker other screens use.

Upload

Drop files on the zone or click it. Several at once are fine (three upload at a time, the rest wait as "Queued"). Files go into the folder you have open; "All files" leaves them unfiled. Allowed: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP images, PDF, plain text, CSV and MP4/WebM/Ogg video. Not allowed: SVG, HEIC, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and zip files. The largest file is 200 MB, or less if your install lowered it in Settings. Each file's contents are checked against its type.

Errors name the file: "File is too large. The maximum is 10 MB." or "This file type is not accepted…". Uploading the same file twice creates two records with no warning. The file keeps its original name; there is no rename.

After an image uploads, optimised copies (WebP at 400, 800 and 1200 px wide where smaller than the original) and a blur placeholder are made in the background, so they appear a moment later. GIFs get none.

Finding files

Tabs by type (All, Images, Documents, Video, Other), a search box, grid or list view, 48 per page, newest first. Search matches the file name, title, caption and alt text. Page, folder, type and search are kept in the address.

Folders

The tree on the left nests without limit. The folder icon creates one inside the open folder; the pencil renames; the trash icon deletes. Deleting a folder deletes its subfolders too, and every file inside becomes unfiled; no file is deleted. To move files, tick them and use Move to folder in the bar that appears (no drag and drop onto folders, and folders cannot be moved).

Customer uploads (Store, Support, Payments, Portal) are managed by the platform: they cannot be renamed or deleted, and files customers upload are filed there automatically.

Imported appears on stores that use Import from link on the products list: it holds the photos fetched from Digikala or Torob, and is managed by the platform in the same way.

File details

Click a file to see its details. Title, Caption and Alt text save together with Save (alt text can't be set at upload). Describe images for screen readers and search engines. If your install turned on Require alt text, saving without it is refused (it is not enforced at upload).

  • Private file: served only to signed-in staff or through a temporary signed link; anonymous visitors get "not found". Copy URL copies the plain address, which does not work for outsiders.
  • Share with a customer… shows the file on that customer's portal media page (only the first 100 customers are offered).
  • Copy URL, Open in new tab, Download, and Delete asset.

Trash

Delete only moves a file to Trash; it can be restored by anyone with the delete permission. Delete permanently (purge permission, Trash tab only) removes the file and all its copies for good. Nothing empties the Trash automatically.

There is no "where is this used" view and no warning when you delete a file that pages use. A trashed file stops loading for visitors at once, so images on live pages break; restoring brings them back. There is no replace-file feature either.

Settings

The Settings button (needs the settings permission) offers: Maximum upload size, Generate image variants, Optimise images on upload (JPEG/PNG become WebP and are scaled down to Largest image side; not for payment receipts or print artwork; email clients like Outlook cannot show WebP) and Require alt text. The list of allowed file types can only be narrowed through the API, not here.

Choosing a file elsewhere

Product, page, blog and branding screens open this library as a picker. Click a file and Select this file, or Ctrl/⌘-click for several. Private files are never offered. You can upload inside the picker and the new file is selected.

Numbers

The Content dashboard shows the number of files and a storage breakdown by type (original files only). There is no quota and no usage figure on this page.

Permissions

media.read to browse; media.write to upload and edit; media.delete to trash and restore; media.purge to delete permanently; media.settings.read/write for settings. Administrators and editors have them. The screen shows every button regardless; the server refuses what you may not do.
