How do I translate a blog post?

Write a post's title, excerpt, body and search texts in another language, and give it its own share picture.

You will have a post that visitors can read in a second language, with its own title, search texts and feed entry.

Before you start

The site needs a second language, and you need the Translate CMS Content permission or permission to write content.

Steps

  1. Open Content → Blog and edit the post.
  2. Find the Languages card. Pick the language.
  3. Fill in Title, Excerpt, Content, SEO title and SEO description under the original text of each.
  4. Optionally press Choose under Social share image to use a different picture for that language. Without one, the post's own picture is used.
  5. Press the language's Save. Each language is saved on its own.

What you will see

"Translation saved". The post opens at its address in that language (for example /fa/blog/...) with the translated text, and appears in that language's list. The blog's RSS feed for that language lists the post with the translated title and excerpt; a language's feed lists only the posts translated into it.

If something goes wrong

  • Saving the post itself does not touch the languages and saving a language does not touch the post. An author saving cannot erase a translator's work.
  • A post with only some fields translated falls back to the original for the others.
  • Use Translate with AI and Mark reviewed in the same card for an AI draft. See "How do I translate with AI and review the result?".
  • Categories, tags and authors have no translation here.
