You will have a draft invoice built from what the client accepted.
Before you start
You need permission to edit estimates and a plan that includes conversion. The estimate must be accepted.
Steps
- Open the accepted estimate.
- Choose More actions → Convert to invoice.
- Confirm "Convert this accepted estimate to a draft invoice?".
- You land on the new invoice. Review it, then send it.
What you will see
A draft invoice with the client, address, currency, tax rate, notes, every required line and the optional lines the client kept. Line discounts stay on their lines and the estimate discount becomes the invoice discount (an older estimate's discount row is included in it). It has its own next invoice number. The estimate becomes converted and links to the invoice (View invoice).
If something goes wrong
- Only accepted estimates convert, and only once; the second attempt is refused.
- If the estimate's series is linked to an invoice series that was removed or archived, you are told to fix the link in Estimate settings and nothing is used up; convert again afterwards.
- Title, terms and valid-until are not copied, and the invoice has no due date from the estimate.
