Estimates

Estimate settings

Default valid days, the number format and restart rule, named series that convert into invoice series, and footer notes on the PDF.

One set of settings for the whole install. You need estimates.settings.read to open the page and estimates.settings.write to save.

Defaults

  • Valid days: a new estimate with no Valid until date expires this many days after it is created (1 to 365). An explicit date always wins.
  • Footer notes: printed at the bottom of every estimate PDF, above the attribution line (up to 1000 characters).

Number format

Built from {seq} (the counter, exactly once; {seq:4} pads to 0001) and date parts {YYYY} {YY} {MM} {DD} or the Jalali {jYYYY} {jYY} {jMM} {jDD}. The default is EST-{YYYY}-{seq:4}. Restart numbering (never, every year, every month) needs a matching date part and cannot mix Jalali and Gregorian. Start numbering at sets the first number. Numbers already issued keep their format.

Number series

Give a line of business its own run, such as WD-0001 for Website Design (up to 40). Each series has a name, format, restart rule, start number and Converts into: the invoice series that a converted estimate is numbered from (the invoice gets the next number there, not the estimate's number). If the linked invoice series is later removed or archived, converting is refused until you update the link; nothing is consumed. Pick the series once when creating the estimate. Saved series can only be archived, and changing a saved series' format starts a new counter.

Currency

The currency is the site currency, set under regional settings.
