How do I translate a course and its lessons?

Translate a course's texts, its modules and lessons, and the content and quiz of each lesson.

You will have a course that students can read in a second language, including its lessons and quizzes.

Before you start

  • The site needs a second language.
  • You need Translate Courses (lms.translate) or permission to edit courses, plus the permission to open the course pages.

Steps: the course

  1. Open Learning → All Courses and edit the course.
  2. Open the Languages tab and pick the language.
  3. Write the Title, Description and Prerequisites. Below, Modules and lessons lists each module and lesson title and each lesson's transcript.
  4. Save the language.

Steps: a lesson's content and quiz

  1. In the same tab, next to the lesson press Translate the lesson content. The lesson translation editor opens.
  2. Choose the language. Write the texts of the lesson body, and the quiz questions and answers.
  3. Press Save. A lesson has no draft: "Changes go live when you save."

Steps: categories, tags, instructors, bundles and plans

  1. Open each list and edit the item.
  2. Use its Languages tab (or the Details | Languages switch) and save the language.

What you will see

The course page, catalogue, bundles, instructor profiles and membership plans appear in the student's language (/fa/courses/...), with the original wherever a field is not translated. A course is listed for a language in the language links and the sitemap once its title and description are translated. A quiz still grades correctly: answers are matched by an identifier, not by their text.

If something goes wrong

  • The student area (/learn) has no language in its address. It follows the language the student last used on the site. Emails, receipts and certificates use the language recorded on the enrollment.
  • A lesson's video and file are the same in every language.
  • Source changed and Still correct work as on products. Use Translate with AI and Mark reviewed the same way.
