How do I verify the site with Enamad or Google Search Console?

You will have added the meta tag a service asked for, so it can confirm you own the site.

Before you start

You need the site-settings Edit permission and the tag from the service, which looks like <meta name="…" content="…">.

Steps

1. Open Site Settings and choose Advanced, then find Site verification.
2. Add a row.
3. Type the tag's name (for example google-site-verification) in Tag name.
4. Type the tag's content in Verification code. Enter only the value, not the whole tag.
5. Press Save, then ask the service to verify the site.

What you will see

The tag is added to the page head on the server, which is where the service looks.

If something goes wrong

• Do not put this tag in the custom JavaScript field: it is refused, and script-added tags are invisible to verifiers.
• A name must start with a letter and use only letters, digits, dot, underscore, colon or hyphen. A code may not contain <, >, quotes or line breaks. Two tags cannot share a name. You can add up to 20.
• These names are reserved and refused: robots, googlebot, viewport, charset, content-type, generator, description, referrer, theme-color.
