One list of every translatable text, for one language at a time.
The list
Choose the language (any language installed on the site except English, which is the source), then narrow it:
- Search matches the English text, the key and the namespace. It does not search the translated text, so to find something you see in Farsi, search for its English wording.
- Namespace limits it to one part of the product.
- Only missing shows texts with no translation at all in that language.
- Only overridden shows only texts you have changed.
Each row shows the namespace, the key, the English source, and the text users currently see, with a badge: Override (your wording) or Missing (nothing in this language). The list shows up to 100 rows; if there are more, a line says so and you should narrow the filters.
The editor
Edit opens one text, showing:
- the English source;
- the shipped text for this language, if there is one;
- a box for your text.
Save is disabled while the box is empty, and a text can be up to 5,000 characters. Your wording replaces the shipped one for that language.
Suggest with AI fills the box with a drafted translation. It does not save anything: read it, correct it, and press Save yourself. It uses the site's own AI connection and names the provider and model it used. If no AI provider is set up, it shows an error.
Restore deletes your override, after a confirmation, and brings back the shipped text. It is available only with the Restore Translations permission; without it the button says so. People who can only view get a View button instead of Edit.
Things to know
- Placeholders such as
{name}are not validated. Keep them exactly as they are. - If you cannot find a text you see on screen, search for its English wording or part of its key. Texts nested in sub-categories cannot be edited here.
- A change shows within about a minute on every copy of the site.
- Only a fixed list of namespaces can be overridden.
