How do I remove someone's access when they leave?

Deactivate the account, which is reversible and keeps history, rather than deleting it.

You will have ended a person's access. Deactivating is reversible; deleting is not.

Before you start

You need permission to manage users. You cannot deactivate or delete your own account, and nothing stops you removing the last other administrator, so make sure one remains.

Steps

  1. Open User Management and find the person on the Users tab.
  2. Press Deactivate on their row. There is no confirmation, so check the name first.
  3. To bring them back later, press Activate.

What you will see

The person is signed out at once and cannot sign in. Their history stays.

If you want to delete instead

Delete removes the account for good, with a confirmation, and has no Trash. Records of theirs that would block the delete are reassigned to you, their API keys are revoked, and the audit trail keeps their entries without a name. Choose it only when you are sure.

If something goes wrong

  • A protected account cannot be deactivated or deleted by a tenant administrator.
  • Deactivating signs the person out of the admin panel. If they had API keys, review them on the API Keys page; only a delete revokes them for you.
