You will have registered an address that receives platform events as they happen.
Before you start
You need the Webhooks Manage permission, and creating endpoints must be in your plan. Have ready a public https address that answers within 10 seconds with a 200-range status, and a long random secret that your receiving system can also read. IP addresses, localhost and internal names are refused at delivery time.
Steps
- Open Webhooks and press Add endpoint.
- Enter the URL.
- Type a secret of 16 to 256 characters. Save a copy: it is not shown again and cannot be recovered.
- Add a description if it helps you remember what the endpoint is for.
- Choose the events: search the list, or type a custom name. Leave it empty to receive every event.
- Save.
What you will see
The endpoint appears in the list as Active, with its event badges (or "All events"). Its deliveries appear in the log, opened from its row.
If something goes wrong
- The address is not checked when you save. A blocked address saves fine and never delivers, with no log row; check it first if nothing arrives.
- Event names must match exactly; a name that never fires is accepted silently.
- There is no test button, so trigger a real event to try it.
- To change anything afterwards you delete and re-add: see How do I change or stop an endpoint?
